Why Learning About Trauma is Sooo Important

Recent Harvard studies show that not dealing with past trauma - or what I call “trapped or stuck energy in the body,” can put you at serious risk for many health issues such as cardiovascular problems, chronic inflammation, Autoimmune disease, diabetes, asthma, and even Alzheimer’s…




This is the reason I mention trauma often, because its a challenge we have all been faced with at one time or another, especially after the turmoil of the past three years. It can be something that happened years ago that still affects how we live our life today. Trauma is the body's reaction to a stressor and there is no logic around what the body deem is a trauma or isn't a trauma. We can't control it, push it down or move on from it until it has been cleared from the whole body.




This is why when someone tells you to "get over" something that happened to you and you can't, you think it's because there is something wrong with you. I'm here to tell you there isn't...there's something wrong with how we view trauma and traumatic events in our society. The idea, that it is in the past, and no longer affecting you on all levels is FALSE!!! Past traumatic events affect you emotionally, energetically, electrically, physically, mentally and spiritually leading to disease, illness and pain.




Many times in life, we are on auto pilot, and we don't even think before we act. Our behaviors tend to be an automatic reaction, so we don't even realize that our past is still running our present and future. We are bombarded daily with triggers and instead of being curious about what they could be revealing...we lash out and try to blame, shame, ignore and disassociate from the issues and people causing them for us.






I have found in my experience, that connecting to Mother Nature and her wisdom along with living with less technology, external stimulation, material objects and NOISE can be quite helpful. It allows us to be in connection with our own needs and trust our intuition. Doing this, along with my breathwork, has transformed my healing. A lot of this wisdom has been lost in modern day society and I'm here to bring it back.
